Lama Lodge
A local farmer had the wild idea of importing llamas (from South America, not Tibet) to the Cullinan area to the north east of Pretoria. Despite the llamas, or perhaps partially because of them, the place has a unique charm and features a traditional South African circular dam which has been turned into a jaccuzzi for thirty people. There are also upstairs pool tables. Lama Lodge is a perfect place for a tour group to spend a few nights during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Accommodation is in 2 farm houses which can accommodate a total of 30 persons, located within a fenced off and secure area. Facilities and activities include a “braai” area (open fire cooking), DSTV, swimming and hiking. There is good birding in the area- Martial Eagle is the most prominent special species.
Rate : R300 per person per night, self-catering (additional charge to service the houses)
Animals on the premises include Llama, Nyala, Kudu, Blesbok, Impala, Black Wildebeest and Ostrich.
